They fixed Copilot returning verbatim snippet of Quake source code by just blacklisting a word! How can they still pretend Copilot is not just copyright washing other people's code? twitter.com/moyix/status/14332613771253…

    > With the way machine learning networks work, they don't really learn one-off high-entropy strings like API keys. This can't be true. Copilot used to reproduce code to the inverse square root function from Quake source literally. They blocked it off by blacklisting the function name. Given that, why would learning API keys be impossible? [1] news.ycombinator.com/item?id=27710287 [2] twitter.com/moyix/status/14332613771253…

Context: there was this tweet [1] that showed how co-pilot generated word for word he famous inverse square root function from the quake code. The tweet generated some press and as a result copilot added the function name to the blacklist of slurs so this won’t happen again [1]: twitter.com/mitsuhiko/status/1410886329…
