Like others doubting the claims, it's worth noting the thoughts by professor Forrest Fleischman about "Silicon Valley businesspeople who are entranced with the idea of tree planting as a climate solution": twitter.com/ForrestFleisch1/status/1444…... (2021) If you dig around on SER ser.org/ you can find documentation on previous failed restoration efforts - my understanding is these efforts really need an intersection of community involvement/stakeholdership and education.

While I believe this comment is well intended, I don't believe it addresses the parent's question. The extra resource they have is electrical power, not land. They are asking if there is a way to turn electrical power into carbon capture. I also want to say that the planting trees method is a bit more nuanced than everyone makes it out to be. But don't trust me, let's ask someone who knows better: Forrest Fleischman[0][1]. I'm not saying "don't plant trees" (do) but that this is often everyone's go to response to CCS and it is a bit naive (as explained in the threads). [0] twitter.com/ForrestFleisch1/status/1306…...
